The
Holy Family band without doubt stands out as the number one backing band in the
country.
The
band has never relented in its exertions to improve the technical capacity of
Gambian artistes, whilst engaging in other commercial activities.
The
band has successfully made its way to the top echelon of Gambian music thus
enjoying a wonderful reputation.
Preparations
are currently on high gear for its fifteenth-year celebration, in partnership
with the Independence Stadium Staff Association.
The
band manager, Abdoulie Leigh, believes it is a landmark event and the public
should expect a spectacle.
“We
are celebrating fifteen years of hard work, commitment, and dedication in music
this coming Saturday 20 May, at the Independence Stadium Friendship Hotel.
“It
is going to be a spectacle and we are urging the general public to come and
support us,” he said.
Meanwhile,
the management of the band and the Independence Stadium are at an advanced
stage of negotiations for staging a weekly event at the friendship hotel.
