Hawks shocks GAF title ambition

Hawks FC have put The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) title winning hope in doubt after beaten them 1-0 in their week twenty-four fixture of the GFF Division One League tournament played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, on Saturday.

The young Hawks, who left The Gambia Armed Forces title dreams in doubt, scored their lone goal through Modou Lamin Jarju’s long-range effort in the 3rd minute to leave the Khaki boys almost in tears for the title.

The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) who now suffered their first defeat of the season, will be praying for their tight competitor Real de Banjul to also have setback in their subsequence fixtures.

GAF dropped second position in the standings with now 38 points after playing 23 games with a game-in-hand, while Hawks FC who now moved to 4th position has 34 points in twenty-four matches  

At the time of going to press on Sunday, Real de Banjul who are clinching the top of the standings with 39 points were battling it out with Brikama United who are on 3rd position with 37 as both sides will be looking to take advantage of Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) setback.
