Hawks roasts Akwa United

Monday, February 12, 2018

Hawks FC of The Gambia has defeated Nigerian side Akwa United with a 2-1 win at Ibon International Stadium in Nigeria on Saturday.

Prior to the match, the Nigerian media reported that Akwa was going to roast Hawks, basing their reports on Hawks’ slow start in the domestic league. In the Sunday clash, Hawks roasted the Nigerian side in the first half with goals from Muhammed Jallow and Lamin Charty aka Xavi.

The Gambian boys held on to the lead until the second half when Akwa pulled one back but the lone goal wasn’t enough to wipe their tears.

Hawks now have the tie in their hands as they wait to finish the double legged tie in Banjul on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Independence Stadium at Bakau.
