Hawks returns home after Confederation cup triumph over Akwa Utd

The Gambia Football Federation cup champions Hawks has returned from Nigeria after their 2018 CAF Confederations cup first leg success over Akwa United in Uyo on Sunday.

The Red Devils, who arrived in Uyo on Thursday beat their host Akwa United 2-1 in the continent’s second tier football competition with goals from midfielder Lamin Chatty, alias Xavi and Muhammed Jallow.

Coach Ansumana Fatty and his Hawks charges will use the next one-week to prepare for the crunch second leg tie at home to Akwa United in Banjul.

Hawks need only a draw in the second leg in Banjul next week to advance to the second round of the CAF Confederations cup following their fantastic away win over their Nigerian counter-parts.
