Hawks end GPA unbeaten run in GFF 1st Division

Hawks FC have broken Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) FC thirteen-match unbeaten run in the 2015-2016 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league.

The red devils beat the ferry boys 1-0 in the week-fourteen fixtures played at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.Ensa Colley’s own goal in the first half, finished GPA thirteen-match unbeaten run in the league.

The club was unbeaten before the week fourteen fixtures with Hawks.

Brikama United beat relegation threatened Serrekunda United 1-0 at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium to climb second spot in the league after Gamtel slipped to Real De Banjul.

Striker Sainey Bojang scored the only goal for Brikama United in the 76th minute of the game.

Gamtel dropped to third place in the league following their 2-1 defeat to Real De Banjul at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.

Haruna Jabang and Omar Jobe were on target for Real De Banjul in the 43rd and 63rd minutes of the game respectively.

Elsewhere, Bombada FC have defeated Steve Biko FC 1-0 at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda on the same day.

Striker Ebrima Sowe was on target for the Brikama-based outfit in the game to remain one place above safety.

GPA still top the league with 27 points in fourteen league matches, Brikama United second with 23 points in fourteen league matches and Real De Banjul third with 22 points in fourteen league matches.

Gamtel are fourth with 21 points in fourteen league matches, Gambia Armed Forces and Hawks are fifth and sixth with 19 points each in fourteen league matches.

Steve Biko are seventh with 18 points in fourteen league matches, Samger are eighth with 17 points in fourteen league matches and Wallidan are ninth with 15 points in fourteen league matches.

Bombada are tenth with 13 points in fourteen league matches, Banjul United are second place from bottom with 11 points in fourteen league matches, while Serrekunda United are bottom place with 9 points in fourteen league matches.
