The current FF cup champions Hawks on Saturday beat defending league champions Gambia Armed Forces 5-3 on penalties, after a goalless draw in regular time in the final game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau to lift the 2017-2018 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league season traditional curtain raiser title.

The super cup final attracted hundreds of football enthusiasts from Greater Banjul and its environs for the country’s top flight league season opener.

Both Gambia Armed Forces and Hawks played to the best of their abilities and threatened each other’s goal.

The Red Devils created more goal scoring opportunities but failed to utilize their limited goal scoring opportunities.

As the champions of the super cup, winners Hawks received a giant trophy, medals and cash prize of D75, 000, whilst GAF received a consolation of D50, 000 as runners-up.
