As part of their preparations for the forthcoming Gunjur Nawettan Championship, Gunjur Youth and Sports Development Association on Saturday 4th July 2009, concluded one-day coaching course for Nawettan team coaches in Gunjur and its environs, at the Gunjur Upper Basic School.

The course brought together 20 young coaches within Gunjur and its environs. The aims and objectives of the training course were to improve and develop the skills and talents of local coaches in Gunjur and its environs.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Treasurer of Gunjur Youth and Sports Development Association, Buba Jatta, said the training course was organised to reduce violence at the field during the Nawettan matches, and to maintain free-trouble Nawettan this year.

He revealed that the course will be organised annually in order to improve and develop the young talented coaches in Gunjur and its areas.

He urged the participants to disseminate the knowledge gained from the course to their respective teams and the community at large.

For his part, the facilitator of the training course, Hatab Jobe, said the course was geared towards upgrading local coaches in Gunjur and its environs. He further disclosed that the seminar will also help local coaches who want to take coaching as their profession in the future.

Finally, he urged the participants to make the best use of the knowledge gained from the training and accordingly share it with their respective clubs and communities.
