International Dr. Amina Sillah has applauded Global Youth Innovative Network
(GYIN) Gambia Chapter for supporting young people in the country.
She was speaking during a visit to Global Youth Innovation Network (GYIN) Gambia Chapter office in Churchill’s Town, last Wednesday.
She said Global Youth Innovative Network (GYIN) Gambia Chapter is already a household name in the country and therefore needs to work harder to maintain the trust and confidence bestow on them.
In her intervention, Dr Sillah commended GYIN Gambia for their hard work over the years in championing the course of young people in the country.
She promised to help the organization in resource mobilization to be able to implement its activities without donor support.
Dr. Sillah stated that she was glad with GYIN Gambia Chapter efforts in empowering young people in the country, adding that Global Youth Innovative Network international will support them .
‘‘The purpose of my visit to GYIN Gambia was meant to familiarised myself with the organization’s programmes and challenges as per its activities’’, she said.
Global Youth Innovation Network (GYIN) Gambia Chapter Executive Director, Mamadou Edrisa Njie congratulated Dr.Amie Sillah for efforts in visiting the GYIN Gambia Secretariat.
He informed her about the programmes and activities that the GYIN Gambia is implementing with financial support from the National Agricultural Land and Water Management Development Project (Nema) and the International Trade Centre (ITC) through the Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) Gambia office.
He also lamented the numerous challenges that the organization has been grappling with since its inception ranging from mobility, visibility, office furniture, office equipment, etc.
.The meeting also featured a PowerPoint presentation by the GYIN Gambia Financial Controller, Mrs Mariam Saine.
