The Federation of International Volleyball Associations (FIVB) and the Confederation of African Volleyball, in partnership with the Gambia Volleyball Federation, will organize a weeklong national level 1coaching course to hone the skills of local coaches on the rules and regulations of volleyball, starting from 12 to 19 March 2015 at the Independence Stadium Friendship Hostel.

The training programme, which will help the limited number of local coaches to know more about the game and FIVB, is about encouraging affiliated federations to promote the technical expertise of volleyball in their respective countries which is a top priority on FIVB developments, said the federation’s secretary general Alfousainey Jarju.

He added: “The course will help us a lot to supervise the game of volleyball in The Gambia, and we are expecting a good number of female participants.”

The week-long intensive course, to be facilitated by FIVB and GVBF, will be held under the supervision of international expert Johaan Huber from Austria, who will be conducting the training programme involving 20 participants from across the country.
