The female finals will be played between last season’s league champions GAF and the record 7 time knockout holders Interior. Interior overcame GAF in the finals 3-2 in April 2014 to win their 7th cup title.
Most people felt Interior would be embarrassed by the reigning league champions and a side acknowledged to be the best in The Gambia, Yet the police women should never be written off and a display of pride and passion lifted the Manneh Sillah crowd as Interior again climb the ladder. The derby is on Saturday.
GAF male team will travel to Manneh Sillah to square off against their closest rivals and the league champions Jeshwang in the males’ finals. Jeshwang are the record league champions of The Gambia after winning the league 3 consecutive times. GAF beat Interior in the cup finals last year to earn their first-ever national honour.
