Gunjur United, Steve Biko shares loot in 2nd Tier beginner

Gunjur United and Steve Biko Wednesday shared spoils in the 2018-2019 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) second division league opener following their goalless draw at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

The Bakau giant killers, who were demoted to the second tier last season after their dismal performance in the top flight, came for the maximum points against Gunjur United but failed in their fight to take the vital three points.

The South boys Gunjur United, who missed top flight promotion to berth Samger, Wallidan, BK Milan and PSV Wellingara last season, also battled to clinch victory against Steve Biko but failed to utilize on their limited goal scoring chances ending the game in a goalless draw.

Brufut United thumped newly-promoted side Team Rahino 2-0 at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium and Waa Banjul defeated relegated side Bombada 1-0 at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium on the same day.

Brufut United and Waa Banjul are both with 3 points each after their first league match beating Team Rahino and Bombada respectively in their opening league matches.

Gunjur United and Steve have both secured 1 point each following their goalless in their opening league fixture. Bombada and Team Rahino are both with zero point each after slipping to Brufut United and Waa Banjul in their opening league matches.
