As part of their contribution towards good environmental sanitation in Gunjur and its environs, the Gunjur Scout Unit (GSC) on Sunday embarked on a considerable cleansing exercise at the Gunjur market and central mosque respectively.

Speaking in an interview with this reporter, shortly after the exercise, the troop leader Kombo South Scout Link, Saidou Bojang, said the reason for organsing the cleansing exercise was to make the premises of the mosque and the market clean and tidy.

As part of the event, they also filled jars in the mosque with water for worshippers to use to perform ablution.

He stated that they would embark on this kind of exercise in other parts of the village in the near future, and urged the vendors at the market to always keep the vicinity clean and tidy.

He appealed to the Brikama Area Council and other donors to come their aid so that they attain their dreams and aspirations for the community.

According to Mr. Bojang, they work hand in glove with the Village Development Committee for the development of the village.

Environmental sanitation, he said, would remain a key priority for his group, while applauding his colleagues for their co-operation and hard work during the exercise.
