Gunjur league final set for July 1

The 2016 Green Vision International Real Estate Company Limited sponsored pending Gunjur Nawetan league final is slated for Saturday 1 June 2017, at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field at 4.30pm.

The much-awaited final will feature two heavy weights,Red Star Family FC and Reliance Financial Services FC, describe by many football admires from Gunjur and environs as a crunch clash.

Red Star and Reliance are both household names in Gunjur football and have won more trophies than any other teams in Gunjur nawetan.

Red Star Family FC started their nawetan league campaign with a goalless draw against Reliance Financial Services FC before playing out another goalless with FC Gamcel-Halifax Town in their second group game.

Red Star hammered Smiling Coast Real Estate Company Limited FC 7-1 in their final group game to finish top spot in group C with 5 points in three games.

Striker Saikou Chorr alias Saikou Njie alone scored four goals.

Red Star Family FC beat Waves FC 2-1 in the quarterfinal to sail to the semifinal.

The 2016 Super Nawetan best player Salifu Bojang alias Bapa and striker Saikou Chorr alias Saikou Njie were on target for Red Star Family FC.

Red Star Family FC advance to the league final following their 1-0 win over the 2015 league champions Dunes FC in the semifinal.

Defender Ebrima Jatta alias Mario was on the score sheet for Red Star Family FC.

Reliance Financial Services FC kicked off their nawetan league campaign with a goalless draw against Red Star Family FC which was followed with a 1-1 draw with Smiling Coast Real Estate Company Limited FC in their second group match.

Reliance Financial Services FC thrashed FC Gamcel-Halifax Town 3-1 in their final group match to finish second-place in group C with 5 points in three matches.

Reliance Financial Services FC progress to the semifinal after their opponents Black Star FC were disqualified for abounding their quarterfinal encounter.

Reliance Financial Services FC sailed to the league final following their penalty shootout victory over Kundembo FC, after their 1-1 draw in regulation time in the semifinal.

Reliance Financial Services FC opened the scores through striker Yaya Touray alias Rapa in the first half.

Kundembo FC leveled the scores through midfielder Ebrima Njie in the second half to send the game into a post-match penalty shootout, which ended 4-2 in favour of Reliance Financial Services FC.

Meanwhile, Red Star Family FC are also set to clash with Reliance Financial FC in the 2016 Gunjur Knock out final set for the third day of Koriteh 2017.
