Gunjur Intermediate Championship gets under way today

The 2014-2015 Gunjur intermediate football championship is set to commence today, Monday 1st September 2014, at the Gunjur Nyamina football field.

The most-awaited opening game will feature Young Santos FC against Qcell FC. The encounter is described by many football admirers in Gunjur and satellite areas as a mouth-watering clash.

The Santos-based outfit (Young Santos FC) will be hoping for a resounding win against Young Qcell FC today to snatch the vital three points, to fancy their chances of qualifying for the quarter finals, as well as keeping their dreams of clinching the trophy.

Jujuba outfit (Young Qcell FC) on the other hand, will be fighting for victory against Young Santos FC today to grab the maximum points to boost their hopes of reaching the quarter finals. The draw for the championship is as follows: group A consists of Young Santos FC, Young Qcell FC, Lion FC and Young Passamai FC.

Group B comprises Real Madrid FC, Manchester United FC, Dortmund FC and Young Gamcel FC.

Ajax FC, Famalang FC, Bilbao FC and Young Standard FC make up group C, while group D consists of Black Stars FC, Buckingham FC and Kombo Real Estate.

According to the Gunjur Sports Committee, the winner of the intermediate championship will receive D 3,000 while the runners up will receive D2,500.

The best player will receive D100; leading goal scorer D100; while most disciplined team will receive D300.
