Gunjur Development Association launched

Gunjur Development Association was on Friday 13 October 2017 launched in Gunjur, Kombo South District of the West Coast Region.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Demba Jobe Touray, Chairman of Gunjur Village Development, applauded the youths of Gunjur for the initiative, adding that government alone could not do everything.

Jobe Touray said he was delighted to be associated with Gunjur Development Association, noting that the association would certainly deliver to expectation in their quest to implement developments in Gunjur.

Karamo Jorang Bojang, Councilor of Gunjur Ward, said every association is aiming for development and believed that the association has competence to develop Gunjur.

Councilor Jorang Bojang appealed to the people of Gunjur to rally behind the association in order to attain their targets.

Councilor Bojang also appealed to the members of the association to be united in order to achieve their objectives.

Speaking on behalf of Alkalo of Gunjur of Alhagie Omar Giki Darboe, Modou Fadera, said the alkalo was glad to be associated with the newly-formed Gunjur Development Association despite not being able to attend the launching ceremony.

Zainab Faal, Public Relations Officer and Media Officer of Gunjur Development Association, said the association formed in May this year aimed at improving Gunjur Health Centre, education among other things.

Badara Njie Bajo, president of the association, commented that the association was established to develop the village.

Other speakers included Amadou Scattred Janneh, who hailed Gunjur youths for the initiative.
