GTBoard briefs journalists ahead of International Tourism Investment Forum

Officials of the Gambia Tourism Board in collaboration with GIEPA Monday briefed journalists ahead of the International Tourism Investment Forum slated for the 16- 18 October 2014.

Speaking at the press briefing held at Kairaba Beach Hotel, Ousainou Senghore, acting-director general of Gambia Tourism Board, said the investment forum will be held at the hotel.

A presentation by the Gambia Tourism Board will highlight the tourism investment opportunities, as well as a presentation by GIEPA.

He added that local and international investors would interact during the forum.

A destination video on The Gambia would be shared with the investors, during the two-day programme.

A day’s excursion and a dinner for the investors would further enable the organisers to cement the relationship built in the forum.

Musa Bah, director Investment Promotion and Facilitation at GIEPA, said the objective of the forum is to create awareness of investment opportunities in the country.

The target is international participants interested in the tourism sector, and so far they have registered 25 international participants, as well as 35 locals.

Other speakers included Fatou Beyai, director of Products Gambia Tourism Board, Mr Hydara of GIEPA and Adama Njie, director of Marketing Gambia Tourism Board, who chaired the media briefing session.
