in her office at Mansakonko, officials of Schools for Gambia Haigerloch E.V
based in Germany as part of their annual support to Gambian children.
Officials of the organisation recently embarked on a massive distribution of educational materials and items and awarding of scholarship to students at Kinteh Kunda in the North Bank Region and Fonkoi Kunda in the Lower River Region.
Madam Samateh commended the officials for their effort, emphasising on the need and importance of supporting school children in The Gambia. She also urged them to continue supporting students who will be taking up the country’s responsibilities in the not too long distance future.
Hubert Heck, chairman of the organisation said they have been in existence for 17 providing support in different areas. He said their first priority is supporting Gambian schools. “We are currently installing electricity at Kinteh Kunda School which will enable the students to access internet.”
He also said his charity has provided free uniforms to all the students in the school, saying providing uniforms to Gambian students is important to them as a charity organization.
Among the materials the charity provided to the beneficiaries is school furniture and clothing, adding that they have also revived the school garden pump to help them support in their gardening.
