Girlfriend to Girlfriend association launches another loan expansion

Girlfriend to Girlfriend association on 14 November 2017, launched another loan expansion at the Essau Community Nursery School.

The association that is a charitable, non-profit, non-political, non-religious and voluntary association, supports and promotes women’s activities by providing direct financial support to women in small-scale trading.

Girlfriend to Girlfriend association also initiated new members in Essau, North Bank Region and provided each of them with a business start-up capital, where they disbursed D50, 000 among ten women in Essau.

 Aji Amie Jatta, the project coordinator, said that the project is out to help women who are ready to work and help themselves.

She thanked the Ambassador of Girlfriend to Girlfriend International, councilor of Bundung Mauritania Six Junction Wards, Sulayman Jammeh, who she said was dedicated to public safety and empowerment, particularly youth and women.

According to her, Mr Jammeh has been implementing tremendous profitable projects from the length and breadth of the country.

She disclosed that Mr Jammeh provided water taps tothe West Coast Region and rural areas.

The association is always aiming higher to gather all Gambia women and engage them in something beneficial.

A representative of Girlfriend to Girlfriend chapter in Denmark, Lou Troublesen, said the loan expansion program is to assist women effectively, adding that the loan was given for six months so that other women could also benefit from it.

 Lou Troublesen also introduced Zhenya Avdeeva to the new members.

Zhenya is an active member of the Danish chapter and she is in The Gambia for the first time as part of Girlfriend to Girlfriend cultural expansion program
