project coordinator of Girl Friend to Girl Friend Gambia chapter, Amie Jatta,
was recently awarded with certificate of appreciation, as a result of her
commitment and devotion to the community.
She was awarded by the Girl Friend to Girl Friend Danish Chapter.
The presentation ceremony, attended by various members of Girl Friend to Girl Friend Gambia chapter, was held at her own residence in Bundung last weekend.
In receiving the award, Amie Jatta, former councillor of Bundung ward, expressed appreciation for the certificate awarded to her and a cash amount of ten thousand dalasis (D10,000).
She thanked Sulayman Jammeh, the APRC ward councillor for Mauritania Six Junction in Bundung, the brain behind the project.
She also described Mr Jammeh as a hard working and determined person who has his community at heart.
She said with the support of Mr. Jammeh and women of Bundung, whom she said, are part of the Girl Friend to Girl Friend Gambia chapter, they were able to have access to a loan of six thousand dalasis to be paid in a form of revolving fund.
For his part, Sulayman Jammeh, the councilor for Bundung Mauritania Six Junction, returned gratitude to her sister, Amie Jatta, for the accolade.
He commented that the award was due to her tireless effort working with the Girl Friend to Girl Friend, the community and women’s right in general.
