Gambia Football Federation (GFF) will be appointing a new technical director, a
reliable source has told Sports Journalist Alieu Ceesay.
According to the source, the country’s football governing body will appoint Ebrima Manneh to the post of technical director. Manneh had previously handled the post but could not enjoy cordial working relationship with the GFF.
Manneh and the football body’s former secretary General Abass Bah were asked to stay home few months before the end of their contracts. GFF has since appointed Lamin Jassey as Secretary General who assumed office on 2nd January this year.
Many people are said to have applied for the technical director portfolio including Senior Scorpions Coach Sang Ndong, who is likely to grab the post. Unless changes happen, it is suspected that former U20 Coach Omar Sise will replace Ndong as the National Team Coach.
Coach Matarr Mboge is the new U20 chief and Coach Abdoulie Bojang is to take charge of the U17.
Ebou Faye, GFF 2nd Vice President confirmed that the process is ongoing and soon they will make the announcement but declined to name the applicants.
