GFF National Domestic League set to get under way December 20

The 2014-2015 Gambia Football Federation GFF national domestic division one league season is set to commence on 20 December 2014, according to the GFF newly-released revised calendar.

The traditional curtain-raiser, the Super Cup, between the league champions Real De Banjul and FA Cup champions Banjul United, is slated for 14 December 2014.

Real De Banjul clinched the 2013-2014 GFF national domestic league title after a stunning performance in the league campaign to grab their 12th national domestic league title.

Banjul United won the West African Lotto Company Limited-sponsored GFF FA Cup title after beating Hawks 1-0 in the all-Banjul finals played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Banjul United’s only goal in the game was scored by striker Pa Omar Babou inthe 87th minute of the match, after slashing through Hawks’ defence to fire home the opener, which eventually proved to be the winner, and clinched their first FA Cup title.
