GFF lodges appeal against Adewale Oloufade

Tuesday, February 05, 2019

Gambia Football Federation (GFF) says it has appealed against the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for dismissing the country’s protest against the eligibility of Togolese player Adewale Oloufade.

Last month, CAF dismissed Gambia’s protest against Oloufade, claiming that the Togolese Football Federation was able to prove that he was born in Togo and is eligible to play for its national team but his double registration on the CMS was an administrative error.

Consequently, the GFF further wishes to inform its stakeholders and the general public that after careful study of the said case, our legal advisers believed that we have a case, thus their advice for us to launch an appeal.

In the same vein, CAF have since acknowledged receipt of our appeal and said the case will be submitted to its Appeal Board who are expected to receive the said appeal in its next meeting scheduled to be held on 10th February 2019.
