GFF lauds players, fans after AFCON Qualifiers against Algeria

The Gambia Football Federation GFF has lauded the country’s players for their stunning display against Algeria in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Scorpions came from behind to draw 1-1 with the Desert Foxes in the continent biggest football showpiece qualifiers played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Saturday.

Bagdad Bounedjah gave Algeria the lead in the 47th minute before striker AssanCessay leveled matters for The Gambia in the 49th minute to share spoils.

The country’s football governing body expressed appreciation to the players for their astonishing fighting spirit during the match against the Desert Foxes.

GFF also hailed the Gambian public particularly the fans for coming out in their large numbers to cheer the players during their crunch clash with the Algerians.
