The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has condemned the act and reports on the ferrying of Gambian players out of the country to Europe by some unauthorised football agents.

It warns all individuals or organizations involving in organizing such football tours called Dana Cup in Denmark to desist from the practice.

A release sent yesterday to Pointsports by GFF publicity/marketing officer Bakery B. Baldeh states:

“Following the recent Press Release on Football tour, the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has learned with serious concern about certain individuals and groups who claim to be organizing a Football tour in Denmark called Dana Cup. The GFF wish to further inform the general public that it is not involved in any arrangement with any individual or group in the so-called football tour that the group claims to be organizing.

“The group is therefore warned to immediately cease the arrangements and refund any funds they might have collected from the parents of the players immediately.

“The Gambia Football Federation solicits the support and co-operation of the general public in this drive to continue the rebranding image of Gambian football and to further sustain the good name of the smiling coast.

“All stakeholders are urged to be vigilant and to further report any case or suspected cases of unauthorized group or persons ferrying Gambian players to Europe.
