GFF domestic league race continues today

The 2015-2016 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league fixtures are set to continue today, Thursday 21 April 2016, across three venues.

Brikama United will welcome defending league champions Gamtel at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

Brikama United are second in the league with 29 points in sixteen league matches, and will target beating Gamtel to close the gap on league leaders Gambia Ports Authority as well as keep their chances of lifting their second league title since they won their first-ever league title in the 2010-2011 season.

Gamtel are among the teams competing for the league title with 23 points in sixteen league matches. They remain bent on beating Brikama United to increase their hopes of retaining their 2014-2015 division one league crown.

Real De Banjul will rub shoulders with Bakau giant killers Steve Biko at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.

Real De Banjul are also among the teams contending for the league title with 25 points in sixteen league matches. They will attempt for revenge after losing to the Bakau giant killers 1-0 in the first round to keep their league title hopes alive.

Steve Biko are mid-table in the league with 19 points in sixteen league matches, and hope to complete a double over the city-boys after winning 1-0 in the first round.

Elsewhere, relegation threatened Serrekunda United will clash with Samger in the other week-seventeen fixtures at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day.

Serrekunda United are sitting bottom place in the league with 12 points in sixteen league matches. They will hunt to beat Samger to move away from the danger zone.

Samger are three places above relegation zone with 18 points in sixteen league matches, and are prepared to put up a fracas to trounce Serrekunda United to improve their position in the league.
