Football Federation (GFF) Friday disbursed D5, 467,500 to national league clubs
at a brief ceremony held at the Federation’s Board Room in Kanifing.
President Lamin Kaba Bajo in his brief statement applauded the Stakeholders for their patience in waiting for the promise to be fulfilled. He also congratulated them for the smooth commencement and running of the domestic league.
He said the disbursement was part of GFF’s fulfillment to support league clubs and assured them of GFF’s commitment to advance their growth.
First Vice president Alhagie Bakary K Jammeh said the gesture is meant to uplift the standard of the clubs in terms of logistical preparation. “We want to accompany all our clubs in the journey to professionalising our league,” Mr. Jammeh noted.
For his part, second- vice president Ebou Faye echoed similar statements and called on the clubs to make best use of the funds presented.
In the same vein, Gambia Football Federation (GFF) also disbursed Confederation of African Football (CAF) approved match balls to each of the clubs to improve their training difficulties. Each of the clubs were presented with five match balls.
