GFF 2nd Tier 1st round winds up

The 2013-2014 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) second division league first round recently wrapped up with thrilling, fascinating and exciting fixtures in Banjul, Brikama, FIFA Goal Project in Old Yundum, Serrekunda East and West.

Banjul outfit Young Africans and Brikama outfit Bombada United are the two clubs chasing promotion to the premier tier next season and are currently occupying first and second places on the second division league table respectively.

Banjul outfit Young Africans are currently leading the 2013-2014 GFF second division league table and will be hoping to win their remaining games in the second round to keep their dreams of regaining promotion to the premier tier following their shock relegation to the second tier after their dismal performance in the first division last season.

Brikama-based outfit Bombada United are currently occupying second place on the league and are expecting to win their remaining fixtures in the second round to fancy their chances of gaining promotion to the first division next season after losing promotion berth to Banjul United last season.

The newly-promoted side Blue Star and second division household name Serrekunda East are both struggling for survival in the second tier after their woeful start to the 2013-2014 GFF second division league campaign.

Both sides are aiming to win their remaining fixtures in the second round to keep their chances of surviving in the second tier next season following their dismal start to the 2013-2014 GFF second division league season.
