Gamtel’s league title in limbo after Fortune loss

Thursday, December 27, 2018

Domestic division one league defending champions Gamtel are in limbo after losing to Fortune 1-0 in the week-five fixture played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium on Sunday.

The telecommunication giants secures only 1 point following their 2-2 draw with FF cup champions Gambia Armed Forces prior to their clash with the Fortune, who snatched 3 points after drawing their three opening league matches.

Gamtel came all out for the vital three points against Fortune to close the gap on teams above them in the league to keep their dreams of retaining their last year’s league crown, but slipped to Farato-based club 1-0 to remain bottom-place in the top flight league with 2 points.

The telecommunication giants need to go back to the training ground during the Christmas break to improve on their weakness to increase their chances of retaining their league title.
