Gamtel pips Banjul Utd to revive lead in GFF 1st domestic league

Gamtel’s 4-2 defeat of Banjul United  in the week-eight fixture played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau has earned them a lead in the 2017-2018 Gambia Football Federation’s domestic Division One League.

The telecommunication giants were occupying second spot with 12 points after eight league matches while the city boys are on the mid-table with 7 points in seven league matches. Gamtel gathered all three points after netting four goals in the match to secure their fourth win in the top flight league season.

Banjul United replied for an equaliser and managed to notch in two goals, which eventually proved to be a consolation for the city boys. Gamtel now bagged 15 points in eight league matches and Banjul United with 7 points in eight league matches.

Defending champions Gambia Armed Forces beat Real De Banjul 2-1 at the Independence Stadium while Fortune FC had a 2-2 drew with Tallinding United at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

Fortune FC has 13 points in eight league matches while Gambia Armed Forces and Real De Banjul both snatched 11 points in eight league matches. Tallinding United has 9 points in eight league matches.
