Gamtel on Sunday thumped Tallinding United 2-0 in the week-eleven fixtures played at the Serreknda East Mini Stadium to move one place above relegation zone in the 2016-2017 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league.

The telecommunication giants were occupying bottom-place in the top flight with only 5 points in eight league matches prior their Sunday’s crucial fixtures knowing that a defeat against Tallinding United will dash their hopes of remaining in the top flight next season, after their slumping start to the league campaign.

Gamtel opened the scores through Bunja Badjie in the 3rd minute of the game before Sanna Sonko sealed victory in the 20th minute to bag their second win and move one place above safety in the country’s top flight.

Real De Banjul dropped to second spot after their goalless draw with current league champions Gambia Ports Authority at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.

Elsewhere, Brikama United beat Serrekunda United 1-0 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau to bounce back after losing to Marimoo and Tallinding United in their previous league fixtures to maintain their league aspirations alive.
