Gamtel, GAF eye to excel in CAF club competitions

Defending league champions Gamtel and FF champions Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) are eyeing to excel in the continent’s prestigious football club competitions following their woeful performances in the previous campaign.

The telecommunication giants will rub shoulders with Algerian side Constantine in the 2019 CAF champions’ league preliminary first-leg clash later this month in Algiers before the return-leg in early December in Banjul.

The  Soldiers  will square-off against FC San Pedro of Ivory Coast in the 2019 CAF Confederations cup preliminary first-leg later this month in Abidjan before the return fixture in early December in Banjul as well.

Gambian representatives Gamtel and Gambia Armed Forces,  the continent’s elite and second tier football club competition are currently embarking on massive training prior to their  competitions.

Both sides will meet in the country’s domestic league season. The super final slated on 24 November at the Independence Stadium in Bakau following their league and FF cup success last season.
