their latest drop in point in the ongoing Gambia Football Federation (GFF)
Division one league, Gamtel’s Assistant Coach Jim Kebbeh has attacked one of
their fans, Alassana, following their goalless draw with Banjul United in the
week eighteen fixtures played at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium on Saturday.
Mr. Kebbah, who is now guiding Gamtel following the suspension of their head coach Sulayman Kuyateh for about seven matches, attacked the fan (Alassana) after the final whistle of the game.
Alassan, as he is known for his enormous support to the Telecommunication boys, went to the Gamtel management calling for the sacking of the current Gamtel technical team for what he called their ‘poor’ start in the season.
Mr. Kebbeh fought the fan because he is always demanding for the defending champion’s technical team to make proper selection of players.
According to some Gamtel supporters, Alassana has been very supportive to the team as he is one of the fans who is always present at the team’s training sessions and help in the keeping of their materials.
Gamtel’s current form in the league and the pressure on them have triggered the assistant coach to attack the fan, particularly Alassana’s comments to the management towards the technical team.
Gamtel, who started slowly after winning the league last season was second in the bottom table (13) position with 7 points in 7 matches after registering only one win, four draws and conceded two defeats.
Head coach Sulayman Kuyateh was handed seven-game suspension by the FA for misconduct in the rules of the game.
