One of Gambia’s Afro beat artistes Gambino Aku boy has just released his new single called “Kolo” which was released in combination with dancehall icon ENC.

The video was shot in Kenya, where Gambino Aku boy literally closed the streets of Nairobi to let the legendary director Enos Olik do his magic.  Kolo is a banging Afro beat-dancehall fusion and will be soon heard in clubs from Serrekunda to London.

Gambino Aku boy was born in Banjul but now based in the UK and raised between the two cities: Serrekunda and Churchill’s town. He started his career as an actor and won several awards during his youth back in The Gambia. To everyone’s surprise, during his first year of multimedia studies in London, he joined the British army

In the summer of 2013, he was posted to Kenya, where he discovered his musical talent together with Kenyan rapper Chieftain.

In 2016, after signing up to ATL crew from Ghana, Gambino Aku boy released his first single “Dance floor” which is a combination with the most famous Gambian rapper ST. The video was produced by David Nicol-Sey and won the “Best Video” at the Gambian Wah Sa Halat Music Awards.

In December 2016, Gambino Aku boy released another single “Wish You Well” also shot by Enos Olik in Kenya; the first music video to reference the Maasai culture. During 2017, several Afro beats bangers were dropped, such as “Chameleon” ft. Sati (Kenyan Singer), “What A Bum Bum” featuring MLK and “Gambian Rapper” Tsunami.

His last release was “Worry them”, a combination with London rappers Yun Kilz and Uncle Bimz which video was shot over the roofs of London.

Gambino Aku boy is pushing to the top with his own new sound, placed somewhere between Afro beats, Afro bashment and dance. He combines authentic African rhythm and melodies with a fun energetic afro pop/dance vibe. His mission is clear; Gambino Aku boy wants to go right up and there is nothing much standing in his way. So get excited and rest assured there is more to come from Gambino Aku boy, the master of deep and catchy tunes!
