Gambia’s honourary consul in Cote d’Ivoire passes away

Banjul, August 24th, 2019 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad of the Republic of The Gambia learns with deep sorrow the demise of Alhagie Ismaila Sibi, The Gambia’s Honourary Consul in the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire. This sad event took place on Friday August 23rd, 2019 in Abidjan.

Mr. Sibi’s passing represents a huge loss to The Gambia. He will be remembered for his positive stance in protecting the interests and welfare of the Gambian community in Cote d’Ivoire, promoting peace and maintaining a strong bilateral cooperation between The Gambia and Cote d’Ivoire.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends condolences to H.E. Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia, family and friends of the deceased and by extension the Gambian community in Cote d’Ivoire. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Press release
