part of preparation ahead of the September West African Football Union (WAFU)
tournament in the Senegalese Capital, Dakar, Gambia’s local-based selection
team; CHAN will be locking horns with their Senegalese counterpart on 21st
August at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
The Gambia CHAN team, who were beaten by GFF League Champions Brikama United by 1-0 are still confident in their preparation ahead of the Senegal international and the WAFU tournament.
The encounter, which will be crucial for both teams ahead of the WAFU tournament, is also meant to strengthen the good relations between the two nations.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Coach Omar Sise said he is happy with the commitment and determination shown by his boys so far, saying that though the preparation is not easy but they’re preparing very well for the Senegal encounter and the tournament. “We have players coming on and off because of injuries and some travel. But we are coping with everything and so far, the way we are going is promising. We are praying to God to guide us to where we want to be,” he said.
According to him, they don’t know about their opponent (Senegal) that much but they will continue with their commitment to give them a wonderful test match.
