Gambian striker signs for Czech Republic club

Gambian striker Lamin Jawo has penned a deal for Czech second-tier side FC Vysocina Jihlava on a free transfer.

The 23-year-old striker amazed Vysocina’s coaching staff during his three-week trial with the Czech National Football League club now offering him a one-and-half year contract.

Jawo signed for the Czech second-tier side as he is searching for more playing time after spending most of his career in the lower echelons of Italian league football.

Vysocina’s director Jan Stanek spoke highly about The Gambian striker, noting that Lamin Jawo is very intelligent and hardworking player who fits perfectly in their team. “He has high athletic figure, excellent moves with a decent place in the sixties and a finish. And most importantly, he is a very intelligent and hard-working player who fits perfectly in the team.”

He said Lamin has convinced them of his potential and perspective in his training and matches, saying, “We are convinced that it is worthwhile to work with him. He is a very intelligent player who by his very nature, has fallen into our cabin.”

 FC Vysocina Jihlava currently sit 2nd position on the Czech second-tier league table with two points behind leaders SK Dynamo Ceske Budejovice on 35 after 16 outings.
