Sulayman Sissoko recently launched a Sarahulleh traditional music instrument
called “Conton” at the West field Youth Monument.
The launching of the instrument was attended by senior officials of the National Center for Arts and Culture, musicians and traditional music lovers.
Sulayman told the Point Entertainment and Lifestyle that launching of the instrument was a milestone in the history of traditional music in the country.
Born in the Upper River Region village of Sandu Dasilami, Sossoko started music at early age. He said the traditional instrument used in Mali and other African countries except The Gambia. “That was why this time, we want to launch it here so that Gambian people would also learn about this instrument.”
