Minister of Youth and Sports of the Gambia, Haframmeh M. Sidibeh, will begin on
Monday a working visit to Cuba with the purpose of strengthening the bonds of
friendship and collaboration between this nation of West Africa and the
Caribbean island, historically twinned.
Sidibeh will thus fulfill an invitation from the president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) of Cuba, Osvaldo C. Vento Montiller.
The visit of the Gambian official to Havana is part of the day of activities for the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries, held on May 19.
Before leaving Banjul, Sidibeh talked about his work program in the largest of the Antilles with the Cuban ambassador in Gambia, Rubén G. Abelenda, who fired him at the international airport of this capital.
