Gambian killed in Casamance

Hagie Fesiru, 19, a native of Dengeri village in the Tumana District of the Upper River Region (URR) has been allegedly killed in a gun shot in the bushes of Casamance after attempt to recover his stolen cattle The Point has been informed.

The incident happened on Friday 9th of February 2018.

Our source said that Mr. Fesiru together with one Haruna used a motorbike in the bushes of Casamance in search of the missing cattle but only to be shot by unknown gunmen in the bush.

“Haruna was the one riding the motorbike while late Fesiru was sitting behind. When they entered the Senegalese territory in Casamance, the deceased was shot from behind. Haruna decided to continue riding but made an about turn to come and inform the villagers about the incident,” our source said.

Our source added that he body has been recovered and brought to Banjul for postmortem while police in the region continue the investigation.
