Gambian foreign-based players will be arriving in Banjul next week prior to the country’s vital 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Algeria next month.

Head Coach Tom Saintfiet for the crunch fixtures with the Desert Foxes invited seventeen foreign-based players.

Bubacarr Steve Trawally was omitted from the final squad and replaced by prolific Musa Barrow, who is currently netting goals for Atalanta in the Italian Serie A and UEFA Europa league qualifier matches.

Coach Saintfiet will be hoping to get all invited foreign-based players for the clash with Algeria, who are currently topping group D of the qualifiers with 3 points after their 1-0 home victory over Togo last year.

The Gambia needs to defeat Algeria to improve their chances of qualifying for their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Cameroon next year after losing 1-0 away to Benin in their opening qualifiers match last year.
