Gambian author-diplomat to launch books

Mr M. I. Sambou-Gassama, a Gambian diplomat at the African Union HQ in Addis Ababa, will launch his publications on Saturday 18 March 2017 at the UTG Law Faculty, MDI Road at 4 pm. The titles to be launched are:

•           Fragments of My Recollection (Fulladu Publishers, 2014), a collection of my articles published variously since 1980;

•           From OAU to AU: a history of a Continental Body (Harmattan, 2014);

•           In Search of Knowledge and Self Development (Fulladu, 2015) an autobiography;

•           Poems in Arabic

All these books will be reviewed by scholars at the launch.

Mr Gassama was born in 1947 and worked as a young diplomat at the Gambian embassy in Libya in 1976, the Gambia High Commission in London, UK, in 1979 to 1981 when he joined the then OAU as translator. He has worked at the African continental body for 37 years. He is also a noted columnist and social commentator whose writings have appeared in various magazines and newspapers.

He invites the general public, friends and well-wishers to the programme.
