Gambian attacker Pa Ali Njie Joins Al-Shamal Sports Club

Al-Shamal Sports Club in Qatar have signed Gambian volleyball attacker Pa Ali Njie for an undisclosed fee from October 2017 to May 2018 and is subject to renewal.

The club confirmed this with the Gambia Volleyball Federation on October 11th 2017 and the 18 year old Gambian international will be with the Al Shamal base club until May 2018;  the club is playing in the first division of Qatar volleyball circle.

The International Volleyball Federation and the Qatar Volleyball Federation all approved the transfer of Njie after endorsement from Gambia Volleyball Federation and the International Transfer Certificate was signed by all parties paving the way for the 18 year old Gambian to becoming a professional.

Before leaving for Qatar, Njie represented Gambia at the 2015 Zone II beach volleyball Olympic qualifiers and won silver.

About Al-Shamal Sports Club

Al-Shamal SC is a Qatari multi-sports club based in Madinat ash Shamal. Al-Shamal was founded in 1980. The club initially only fielded teams in handball and football, but in 1982 branched out to volleyball. In the following years, the club established teams in other sports, including table tennis and basketball. The club finished 8th in the eleven team standing of the Qatar volleyball league last season.
