The Gambia Youth Chamber of Commerce (GYCC), a registered youth organisation has organised a seven day Youth Exhibition in Bansang, Central River Region. The week-long exhibition/ trade fair started with a prevent training with 30 exhibitors within the Region.
The exhibition was organized to open youth to trade fair preparation, marketing and networking strategies as well as the opportunities available at GYCC and the European Union (EU) funded Youth Empowerment Project (YEP); who funded the event among others.
At the end of the exhibition, GYCC launched a regional chapter to continue steering the affairs of youth entrepreneurs in CRR and support them in building their capacity to curb social vices within the region.
GYCC commitment is to prepare, develop, nurture and support the establishment of functional youth-led micro enterprises and to generate employment opportunities across the country through the implementation of micro enterprise activities.
“We are entrepreneurs that mobilize young African entrepreneurs in The Gambia to improve their future and give them a voice. We create market space by organizing regional exhibitions to get the youth out of their marginalized positions and support them to become successful entrepreneurs,” Baboucarr Kebbeh, GYCC chief executive officer said.
He said they promote and network youth entrepreneurs in the field of commerce and create market linkages and spaces for them by organizing regional exhibitions.
