Gambia women U-17 team disgrace interior in friendly

The Gambia national U-17 team over the weekend demolished interior women team 6-2 in a friendly match, played at the Independence stadium in Bakau.

Interior FC opened the score sheet through Penda Bah in the 8th minute from a deceptive header.

Two minutes later, Ola Buwaro leveled the scores to cancel Penda Bah’s 8th minute opener, after beating two interior defenders and slashed the ball into the top right corner of the goal post.

Moments later, Ola Buwaro fired in her second goal of the game in 18th minute of the game from a fine strike.

Penda Bah leveled the scores to 2-2 in the 21st minute of the encounter from a brilliant finish, thus the first half ended 2-all.

Upon resumption from the break the national U-17 team pushed more bodies forward to frustrate Interior FC and their efforts paid off when prolific striker Sally Ceesay, fired home the third goal after capitalising on Interior FC defensive blunder in the 49th minute.

Catherine Jatta extended the lead in 78th minute after capitalising from Ola Buwaro’s low cross.

Ola Buwaro registered her third and fourth goal of the game in the 89th and 90th minutes, respectively, to give her side a convincing win over the Police outfit.
