Gambia unveil squad for AFCON qualifiers against Cameroon

The head coach of the Gambia National team, Raoul Savoy, has unveiled his 24-man squad for their 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Cameroon set for Sunday 6 September 2015, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Coach Savoy unveiled his squad yesterday at a media conference held at the Gambia Football Federation Secretariat in Kanifing layout.

Savoy said that a 39-man delegation will travel to Casablanca, Morocco, for a-four-day training camp ahead of the clash with Cameroon on Sunday 6 September 2015, adding that they were able to identify 30 players of whom 24 were invited for the game against Cameroon.

Savoy stated that the invited players are quality players, playing regular football in their respective clubs.

Savoy revealed that the invited players will arrive in Banjul on Monday, adding that they will hold their first training session in Casablanca, Morocco, on the same day.

He further revealed that the team will return to Banjul on Thursday 3 September 2015, noting that they will hold training session on the same day upon their arrival from Casablanca, Morocco, for a four-day training camp.

According to Savoy, all the invited players are ready for the game against Cameroon and will be fighting for positive result against the Indomitable Lions.

The names of the invited players against Cameroon are goalkeepers Alagie Modou Jobe, Sam M. Jammeh and Alagie Nyabally.

The defenders are Momodou Futty Danso, Abdou Jammeh, Bubacarr Sanneh, Omar Colley, Kebba Ceesay, Ousman Koli, Pa Modou Jagne and Abdoulie Kenny Mansally.

Midfielders are Sanna Nyassi, Sainey Nyassi, Sulayman Marreh, Modou Secka Barrow, Dawda Ngum, Omar Jagne, Ebrima Sohna, Matarr Nyang and Hamza Barry, and the strikers are Assan Ceesay, Ebrima Sawaneh, Baboucarr Trawally and Pa Amat Dibba.
