The Gambia national U-20 squad has intensified preparations for their crunch 2017 African U-20 Youth Championship qualifiers second-leg tie with Guinea Conakry set for Sunday 24 July 2016 in Conakry.

The Darling Scorpions, who were held to a goalless draw by the Young Silly National in the first leg in Banjul earlier this month, are currently on intensive preparations at the Independence Stadium in Bakau for the crucial clash against fellow West Africans.

Coach Sise’s charges need a win or score draw to sail to the 2017 African U-20 Youth Championship to be hosted in Zambia, after their goalless draw in the first leg in Banjul.

The Gambia eliminated Morocco to reach the third and final round of the African U-20 qualifiers against Guinea Conakry.

Guinea Conakry eliminated Ivory Coast to sail to the third and final round of the 2017 African U-20 Youth championship qualifiers.

The winner between The Gambia and Guinea Conakry will advance to the 2017 African U-20 Youth Championship to be hosted in Zambia.
