Gambia National U-17 team players are currently stretching their muscles for the 2018 WAFU Zone A football tournament set to be hosted in Senegal next month.

The Baby Scorpions under the guidance of Abdoulie Bojang are presently embarking on massive training at the FIFA Goal Project in Old Yundum to prepare themselves fit for the championship.

The tournament is set to bring together nine countries from WAFU Zone A and compete with each other for the Sub-regional prestigious trophy.

The Gambia is in group B alongside Mali and Liberia for the Sub-regional football championship set to run from September 9 to 18. The tournament will be used as qualifiers for the 2019 Total Africa U-17 Youth championship to be hosted in Tanzania.

The two finalists will qualify for the continent’s cadet bi-annual biggest football jamboree in Tanzania next year.
