Gambia To Host African Draughts Confederation Championship July 13

The Gambia is expected to host a continental draughts championship between 13th July to 22nd July 2009 in Banjul.

The Gambia National Draughts Association, the umbrella body in charge of draughts in the country is working on efforts to stage this major event.

In this regard, the association has called on members of the media fraternity for a press conference today Tuesday July 7th 2009, at the GNOC offices, in which information regarding the Africa Draughts Confederation championship will be announced.

The game of draughts is being played by scores of people from different walks of life

The African Draughts Federation is made up of The Gambia, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire Cameroon, Congo, Guinea, Mauritania, Mali, Senegal, South Africa, among others.
