Volleyball Federation has been granted the permission to host the boy’s zonal
qualifiers for the 3rd Africa Youth Games from April 20-22 in Banjul.
Guinea Conakry, Senegal and The Gambia registered to take part in the two day tournament in which the top country will get the Zone II slot to Algeria for the proper games in July.
Acting president of the Federation Bai Dodou Jallow reaffirmed their readiness to host the event, saying, “We are hopeful that it will be another great tournament. As host nation, we want to grab the sole ticket to Algiers.”
He said qualifying to the games would merit the efforts they put together for the past 4 years in the Africa Dream Project centers because they are recruiting players from the centers to represent the Gambia at the games.
In 2017, The Gambia was also entrusted to host the African Nations Cup qualifiers for beach volleyball in Banjul.
