The Gambia national U-17 team will clash with Liberia national U-17 team for a spot in the upcoming U-17 football tournament to be hosted in Senegal in September this year.

The baby scorpions under the guidance of coach Abdoulie Bojang will embark on massive training prior to their double-legged play-off clash with Liberia for a place in the tournament proper.

The Gambia will endeavour to eliminate Liberia in the play-off qualify for the tournament.

It could be recalled that the Gambia won the Africa U-17 Youth championship twice in 2005 after beating Ghana 1-0 in the final played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau and in 2009 after defeating Algeria 3-1 in the final played in Algiers.
